Currently, Paulo Lopes does not have a municipal public transportation service. Travel within the municipality can be done by taxi or private vehicle, ensuring access to the main attractions and central areas of the city.

Documentation

To visit Paulo Lopes as international tourist, it is necessary to check the visa and documentation requirements demanded by the Brazilian government and the country of origin of the visitor. Citizens of some countries are exempt from tourist visas for up to 90 days, while others need to apply for a visa prior to travel. 

In addition, it is necessary to have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Brazil. It is recommended that the visitor has round-trip tickets, proof of accommodation reservation, proof of sufficient financial means for the stay and international health insurance valid for the period of the trip.

The CNH (National Driver's License) is not accepted as an identification document. In addition, it is important that tourists have proof of hotel reservations and return tickets to their country of origin.

How to get

Paulo Lopes is located on the southern coast of Santa Catarina, approximately 60 km from Florianópolis, and has good access options by land and air. 

For those arriving from plane, The nearest airport is Hercílio Luz International Airport (FLN) in Florianópolis, which receives daily flights from various Brazilian capitals and cities in South America. From the airport, the journey to Paulo Lopes can be made by rental car, transfer, or intercity bus, with an average duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. 

Traveling from car, The main access is via BR-101, one of the most important highways in the state. The route is well-signposted and connects directly to the center of Paulo Lopes and the main beaches in the region. 

For those who prefer to travel by bus, There are regular bus lines departing from Florianópolis, Tubarão, and Laguna, operated by the Santo Anjo company. Currently, the municipality does not have a bus terminal, and the bus stop is located on the side of BR-101 (coordinates: -27.981990, -48.678877), near the main access to the city, from where it is easy to reach the center of Paulo Lopes or the main attractions using taxis or ride-sharing apps.

Floripa Airport boasts modern infrastructure, restaurants, shops, car rental agencies, and transportation services that facilitate travel to Paulo Lopes. From the airport, it's possible to continue the journey by rental car, transfer, or intercity bus, with an average travel time of 1 hour and 30 minutes. 

The airport operates daily flights to several cities in Brazil, such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Curitiba, and Porto Alegre, in addition to international routes with direct flights to destinations in South America, Lisbon, and Panama City.
